Robin Scherbatsky Is Pregnant – OMG Robin Scherbatsky is pregnant and is the baby daddy Barney Stinson or is it Kevin on How I Met Your Mother inquiring minds want to know.

 
It’s Thanksgiving and Robin Scherbatsky announces to Barney Stinson that she is pregnant, but wait, we’re way ahead of ourselves. The entire Thanksgiving episode “BroParents” is all about having babies!

The episode contains not only Robin Scherbatsky’s surprising pregnancy news, but Lilly and Marshall have inherited a house on Long Island and are looking for signs from the universe on whether it is the right choice for a locale to raise their growing family – relocating from cramped, but much loved, quarters in NYC.
 
Barney and Ted hatched a plot early in the ‘BroParent’ episode to remain single and have children via adoption or surrogate. That way they could maintain their bachelor lifestyles,  have kids, not worry about keeping girlfriends and seduce the nannies! Turns out to not be such a great idea, when Barney and Ted disagree on such things as a pet boa constrictor, who will quit their job for ‘stay at home parent duties’  and other items. But the ‘chick magnet’ factor of a baby is huge and played out on the front steps of Ted’s apartment as the boys were departing for Thanksgiving dinner. That scene was hilarious and reminiscent of all those guys we all know who use puppy dogs to attract women (great idea Lol). In the scene women swarm the cute baby that Barney has commandeered from his brother James, who is adopting with his life partner.

Thanksgiving is happening at Marshall and Lilly’s newly inherited Long Island home and the entire gang shows up. No sign of Kevin, but Barney heads out for a walk and sees Robin in the bathroom window. He knocks and crawls in to ask her if they are ‘still friends.’ Robin says “sure” and Barney launches in on how he and Ted had tried to come up with a ‘BroParent’ solution to have children (of course it’s all Ted’s fault).

Robin then breaks down and confesses she is pregnant. That was the end of the freaking episode. Never has HIMYM had such a cliff hanger! This episode could not have been directed better  by Bays and Thomas, it was  fantastic.  What was running through your mind?

Barney And Robin In Bed HIMYM - Barney And Robin open the episode in bed with both agreeing to hide their night together during an upcoming Sandy Rivers’s annual dinner boat cruise with Nora and Kevin.

On the boat cruise (Sandy Rivers is Robin’s sleazy boss), it soon became clear that hiding their infidelity from Kevin and Nora was simply ‘killing’ both Barney and Robin. The guilt won, with Barney and Robin deciding they were going to fess up and come clean with their dates about their affair. It was vintage HIMYM dialogue:

“I wish last night had never happened,” Robin told Barney. “I don’t,” he replied. “What if this whole thing isn’t a story about how we both made a horrible mistake and ruined our relationships? What if it’s actually the story of how we got back together? Barney said to Robin, “you’ve never stopped thinking about me and I’ve never stopped thinking about you.”

The Sandy Rivers cruise scenes, during which a Barney who is feeling the pain of guilt references the old TV favorite, Gilligan’s Island and the “Three Hour Cruise” theme song, were absolutely hilarious. Both couples were dancing and the cruise band strikes up a song about cheating…of course the lead singer is heating up their guilt by seemingly directing all the song’s lyrics toward Barney and Robin as they danced with their respective partners.

So Barney and Robin decide to fess up and come clean with Nora and Kevin, but that was easier said than done. Kevin was blinded by a flying cocktail and suffering a concussion, while Nora had a melt down over a wine spot on her dress and again, the confessions were delayed. They decided to break the news in private after the cruise and meet up at MacLaren’s at midnight to talk.

Nothing is ever easy in Robin’s life and confessing to Kevin proves to be no exception. At the hospital for his cocktail injury, Kevin decides to use the “L” word with Robin. Her attempts to lay out just how messed up she is, only seems to endear her to him more.

Meanwhile after a surprise meeting with Nora’s parents at her apartment, Barney tells Nora about going to bed with Robin. They break up and he heads to McClaren’s to wait for Robin.

The heartbreaking moment when Robin walked in to MacLaren’s with Kevin, the look on Barney’s face, had me vowing to watch this episode all over again. Barney gives Robin “the look’ that asks if she has broken the news to Kevin and she just shakes her head no. Great acting on the part of Coby Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris!

The episode ends with Barney back at his place putting out the romantic candles and cleaning up rose petals he had scattered on the bed in anticipation of another night with Robin.

Robin Scherbatsky Children – How I Met Your Mother will feature Robin Scherbatsky’s children in an  upcoming episode that will portray our favorite crazy girl Robin as a mom with two kids.

Robin Scherbatsky’s children will be featured in a HIMYM episode when the show takes a leap to the future showing Robin having a conversation with the kids, reminiscent of Ted’s ‘future’ talks with his children.

Media sources say Robin Scherbatsky and Barney Stinson could be the parents of the children, with one son who has blonde hair while Robin’s daughter is a brunette. We know Barney Stinson is getting married in the not to distant future, but still remain clueless as to who the bride may be! Could it be that our favorite couple get married and Barney becomes Baby Daddy to Robin’s children? That would be hilarious!

Kal Penn, who currently plays Robin’s boyfriend Kevin, did spill to E! Online that his character may not stay for too much longer as he said, “I would imagine at some point it will not be all smooth sailing for me and Robin.”

Kal gave a bit more of a hint with this statement: “Barney and Robin have long had a chemistry and have a whole backstory and history that probably won’t be able to be ignored forever. Kevin likes having a gang, but in the long-run, I think it will probably be unsuccessful for most people to really break into the core group of five.”
